OUR BUILDING
PROJECT

Fulfilling the Vision - Planting the Cross.

How it started.

Our building campaign officially started in 2008 with "Together We Build". Our current building campaign, "Fulfilling the Vision - Planting the Cross," carries on the same mission: To plant a flag in the town of East Lyme for Christ with our building, leading people to Christ for many years to come. Since then, the Lord has used many faithful givers to help us reach this current position.

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done ~ Psalm 78:4b.

In 2013, Harvest leadership prayerfully decided to purchase our land off North Bridebrook Road, with the intent of building a church there. Shortly after the purchase, Harvest installed a large wooden Cross and weeks later, held a worship service on our new land.

The long road and the trials faced.

Whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you ~ James 1:2b-5.

From the very beginning of this project until even today, the road to our new building has been full of trials. There is much wisdom in the Bible about trials and how they test our faith. We persevere and grow from it. This project has very much been a test of faith, and in His timing, He is not only growing us as a church but also teaching us to rely on Him even when things seem impossible.

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;  it will certainly come and will not delay.
~ Habakkuk 2:3.

In 2021, we were all but ready to start the process, get a permit, and break ground. We endured a tough battle for approval from the town Inland Wetlands agency and the Zoning Commission, during which we faced public scrutiny. Though we gained favor with the town, the impact COVID had on the price of materials made the price of the project over our budget. Hearing from the Lord to wait, Pastor Randy and Harvest leadership put the building project on hold. As we waited, we continued building funds for our project. As building-supply prices stabilized, we pursued the design process for the church.

He has made everything beautiful in its time ~ Ecclesiastes 3:11.

Fast forward to 2026: we took our plans to town, finally applied for our building permit, and are waiting for comments. We have applied to a lender and are awaiting official approval.

With continued faith and trust in the Lord, like Gideon and his 300 men, the Lord will see the victory (Judges 7:1-18).

HOW TO PARTNER WITH US

This Church building project would not be possible without our faithful givers! Help us to see a future generation know the love and freedom of knowing Jesus Christ. Please pray about how you can bless this mission with a one-time gift or a monthly pledge.

"They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. "
